Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Making a difference in someone’s life and community. Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Home Care Residential, an organization that provides advocacy, growth, collaboration and compassion to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.

Responsibilities

Follows the plan of care to provide safe, competent care/service to the client

Offers support to the individuals with their activities of daily living (ADL)

Observes and reports any change in the client’s mental or physical condition or in the home situation

Provides clients’ transportation to and from activities

Assists in the implementation of individual support plans and behavioral plan goals

Abides to ethics of individual confidentiality

Responsible for medication administration and adhere to the policies and procedures regarding medication administration

Must complete required documentation to reflect client’s outcomes accurately and in a timely fashion















                                                       
     







Requirements

High School diploma or GED.

Experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities; preferred 1-3 years.

Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.

Must possess a valid driver’s license & an insured and a registered vehicle.

Ability to pass and maintain required trainings: DSP, CPR (every 2 years), CPI (every year), CRMA (every 2 years)
